Collection "Fantastic Bestiary"
German-Polish artist Cpt JayR was inspired by the Greek literature Physiologus of the 2nd-century, which summarized ancient knowledge and wisdom about animals in the writings of classical authors such as Aristotle's Historia Animalium ... Bestiary (Latin: bestiarium vocabulum) originates in the ancient world, and became popular in the Middle Ages in illustrated volumes that described various animals.
Step into a world of imagination with ‘Fantastic Bestiary’—a collection where ancient symbolism meets modern fantasy in the realm of digital art.
During the Middle Ages (roughly 5th to 15th centuries), the "Physiologus" was expanded upon and incorporated into more elaborate illustrated manuscripts known as bestiaries. These bestiaries became highly popular in Europe, particularly in England and France, from the 12th century onwards.
Bestiaries influenced medieval art, literature, and culture, shaping people's understanding of the natural world and its symbolic meanings.
They also played a role in the development of heraldry, with many heraldic symbols derived from animals described in bestiaries.

conceptualist Cpt JayR
Since the 70s in graphic illustration, since 1981 in computer programming, Cpt JayR has many faces as media producer, content creator, fashion designer, conceptual artist and captain of the sea (living all year on a wooden 2-master).
With a life span of now more than six decades, as an Internet pioneer (since 1992) he was (and still is) always upfront the common trends, yet not following blindly hypes and memes. Driven by curiosity to explore new landscapes of the inner human world, "Square shaped Pig Head hybrid with Lama body" was the first of three thematic, followed by "Octogon BullSharkPig-Head hybrid with Flamingo body" and "Trapezoid Bat Head hybrid with Crocodile body".
And there is more to come ... TDC - The Digital Curator is in preparations for some more collections of Cpt JayR's art work of the last 15-20 years.
